Commissioned by Napoleon to honour his Grande Armée, the Arc de Triomphe stands 50 metres tall at the top of the Champs-Élysées. Beneath it lies the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier and its eternal flame.
Climb to the rooftop terrace for one of the finest views in Paris: twelve grand avenues radiate from the arch like a star, with the Eiffel Tower on one side and La Défense on the other. It is the city laid out at your feet.
