Yerevan's Zvartnots International Airport (EVN) sits about 12 km from the city center — for city details see the full Yerevan guide. The airport has no rail or metro link — the main options are the bus, taxi and private transfer. Armenia's currency is the dram (AMD).
🚌 Airport Express bus — the cheapest option
The airport bus runs toward Republic Square every 30 minutes during the day, dropping to hourly overnight.
- Price: ≈300 AMD (≈$0.8)
- Schedule: every 30 minutes from 07:00 to 22:00, hourly from 22:00 to 07:00
- The ride to the center takes about 20-30 minutes depending on traffic
- Tickets are bought on board from the driver, cash only
🚕 Taxi and Yandex Go/GG
An official taxi to the center costs ≈3,000-5,000 AMD (≈$8-13). Avoid unofficial touts waiting outside the terminal — they routinely inflate the price.
A taxi booked through Yandex Go or GG has its price locked in advance and is usually cheaper than one hailed from the terminal queue.
🌙 Arriving at night
If your flight lands after 22:00, the airport bus still runs, just on an hourly schedule. If your luggage is heavy or you'd rather not wait, Yandex Go or GG is a reliable alternative — available overnight too.
💡 Practical tips
- Dram (AMD) is useful for the bus and small shops — cards work almost everywhere in the center
- ATMs are available right at the airport before you leave the terminal
