Your comfort in flight depends heavily on the seat. The right choice is worth it β especially for long flights.
Window vs Aisle vs Middle
**Window:**
- β View, can lean on the wall to sleep
- β No one disturbs you
- β Going to the bathroom β disturbs neighbors
Aisle
- β Easy bathroom access
- β More legroom β can stretch into the aisle
- β Other passengers will bump you
- β Service cart often hits you
Middle
**Never pick this** β less comfort, pressure from both sides. Only use it when traveling as a family.
Bulkhead Row (first row)
β More legroom. β No one reclines into your space.
β Families with infants often sit here β possible noise. β Carry-on must go in overhead bins, not under the seat.
Parents with infants often sit here. If you want a quiet flight, pick a row further back.
Exit Row
β Significantly more legroom (20β30 cm extra). Often a paid upgrade.
β Responsibility to assist in an emergency. Restrictions β children, disabled passengers and non-language speakers can't sit here.
Over-the-wing seats
Aerodynamically, seats over the wing have the least turbulence. Recommended for nervous flyers.
Last row β avoid
- β The tray table often doesn't fold β there's a wall behind
- β Close to the bathroom β noise and smell
- β Limited recline β the seat doesn't go back
