🚄 Arlanda Express — the fastest option
The nonstop train reaches Stockholm Central in about 20 minutes, departing every 15 minutes at peak times.

🚌 Flygbussarna — the cheaper alternative
The Flygbussarna coach reaches Cityterminalen in about 45 minutes, running every 10-15 minutes.

🚕 Taxi and Bolt/Uber
An official taxi to the center runs a fixed fare of ≈575-695 SEK (≈$55-65), taking roughly 35-45 minutes depending on traffic. Stick to official taxis with clearly posted rates (Taxi Stockholm, Taxi Kurir) — unlicensed drivers outside the terminal routinely charge several times more.
Bolt and Uber are usually cheaper than an official taxi, but you need to book through the app in advance — you can't hail one on the curb.
🌙 Arriving at night
If your flight lands late at night, both the Arlanda Express and Flygbussarna keep running, just on a reduced, roughly hourly schedule. If you need to move quickly after the last scheduled service, Bolt or Uber is the reliable option.
💡 Practical tips
- Buy an SL travel card once you're in central Stockholm for local transit — it isn't valid on the Arlanda Express
- Avoid anyone in the terminal offering to carry your bags or hail a taxi for you
- Skavsta (NYO) is a separate, secondary low-cost airport about 100 km from the center — double-check which airport your ticket lands at
