Antalya Airport (AYT) is 13 km from the center, with Kaleiçi (the historic old town) 14 km away. Three options: AntRay tram — the cheapest (~$0.70); HAVAŞ shuttle — quickest (~$5); taxi — most comfortable ($25-50). In peak summer plan around the heat.
🚇 Ways into the center
- AntRay tram → center: 35-45 min, ~$0.70 (10 TRY)
- HAVAŞ coach → center / Otogar: 35-50 min, ~$5-7
- TC07 city bus: 45-60 min, ~$0.70
- Taxi → Kaleiçi: 20-30 min, ~$25-50
- Uber / BiTaksi: 20-30 min, ~$20-40
- Hotel transfer (Konyaaltı / Lara): ~$30-55
🚆 AntRay tram — cheapest
The AntRay line (Antalya → Aksu) serves the airport via the Havalimanı-1 and Havalimanı-2 stops — a 300 m walk from Terminal 1. Switch lines to the center at İsmetpaşa station — 35-45 min total.
Pay with an AntalyaKart, ~$0.70-1 per trip. Buy the card at the platform's ticket machine.
AntRay runs 06:00-23:30 — for late flights switch to HAVAŞ or taxi.
🚌 HAVAŞ express — direct to hotels
HAVAŞ is Turkey's official airport coach company. Two main lines in Antalya:
- HAVAŞ to center (Otogar/Migros): 35-50 min, ~$5-7
- HAVAŞ to Konyaaltı / Lara hotels: 40-60 min, ~$7-9
- Frequency: every 30-60 min; 24/7
- Tickets: counter in arrivals or the HAVAŞ app
🚖 Taxi — fast and comfortable
AYT to Kaleiçi by taxi takes 20-30 min — $25-50 by day, $35-60 at night. Antalya cabbies often try to pitch tourists a flat 'tourist' fare.
The official taxi rank is right outside arrivals — blue (Mavi Taksi).
Tourist scams are common at AYT — the 'tourist price' can be 2-3x the meter. Insist on the taksimetre or book via BiTaksi to lock the fare in.
📱 BiTaksi and Uber
BiTaksi is the local Turkish app — it hails the official taxi with a locked-in fare. AYT to Kaleiçi runs $20-40. Uber Antalya works but with a small driver pool.
Pickup zone: arrivals exit, Block 4 / Doors 1-2.
🚗 Car rental
Antalya is one of the few places where renting a car genuinely pays off. The coastal stretch (Antalya → Side → Alanya), mountain villages, Düden Waterfalls and Olympos are best reached by car.
Rates from $30-60/day (Hyundai i10). All major operators (Sixt, Avis, Enterprise, plus locals) at AYT arrivals.
💡 Tips
- In peak summer, AYT → Lara or Konyaaltı: many hotels offer free shuttle transfers — ask before paying for a taxi
- AntalyaKart card works city-wide on transit — buy once
- Pegasus low-cost late-night arrivals: HAVAŞ is 24/7 while AntRay isn't running
- From the city center it's a 5-min walk to Kaleiçi
