Vilnius International Airport (VNO) sits just ~6 km from the center — one of the closest and most convenient airports in Europe. Options into town: the train — ~$0.80 (€0.72), just 7 minutes; the bus — ~$1.60 (€1.50), 20-30 minutes; Bolt or taxi — ~$6-16. Thanks to Wizz Air's direct flights from Kutaisi, VNO is a key gateway to the Baltics for travelers from Georgia.
🚇 Ways into the center
- Train → central station (Vilnius): 7 min, ~$0.80 (€0.72)
- Bus No. 1 → central station: 15-20 min, ~$1.60 (€1.50)
- Bus No. 3G (express) → center: 20-25 min, ~$1.60
- Bolt: 10-15 min, ~$6-9 (€5-8)
- Taxi: 10-15 min, ~$13-16 (€12-15)
🚆 Train — the fastest and cheapest
A direct train links the airport to the central railway station (Vilnius) — just 7 minutes. It's both the cheapest and the fastest option at once. The platform is a 5-minute walk from the terminal, with clear signs.
The ticket costs ~€0.72 (~$0.80) — buy it from the orange machine on the platform (it takes cards and cash) or via the LTG Link app. Trains run from ~05:00 to 22:00, every 30-60 minutes.
From the central station the Old Town is a 10-15 minute walk, or one stop by bus. For a late-night flight, when the train no longer runs, take the bus or a Bolt.
🚌 Bus — the reliable alternative
Bus No. 1 links the airport with the central station, and No. 3G is an express line toward the center. Both stop right in front of the terminal and run from early morning to late at night.
The ticket is ~€1 (~$1.10) via the Trafi app or €1.50 (~$1.60) in cash from the driver — validate it the moment you board. Late at night the bus covers the schedule better than the train.
- No. 1 → central station: 15-20 min
- No. 3G (express) → center: 20-25 min
- Ticket: €1 via the Trafi app or €1.50 cash from the driver
- Validation is mandatory — board and validate straight away
🚖 Taxi and Bolt
In Lithuania the main app is Bolt (a local company) — from VNO to the center it's ~€5-8 (~$6-9), with a 2-5 minute wait. The price is fixed in the app and you pay by card. An ordinary taxi is a bit pricier — ~€12-15 (~$13-16).
Official taxis wait at the arrivals exit; before getting in, make sure the meter is on or agree the price in advance.
Don't follow private taxi offers in the arrivals hall — use Bolt or the official rank, where the price is transparent.
