π Options into the center
- Tram T2 or T4 β center (Viru/Old Town): β15-20 min, β$2 (β¬2)
- Bus No. 2 β center: β20-25 min, β$1.60 (β¬1.50)
- Taxi/Bolt β center: β10-15 min, β$16-22 (β¬15-20)
- On foot β unusual, but doable: β35-40 minutes
π Tram β the most convenient option
The tram stop is right at the terminal entrance. Line T4 runs through the center (to Viru) in β20 minutes, while line T2 heads toward the old harbor (Vanasadam), an easy walk from Tallinn's Old Town. Trams run every 10-15 minutes.
A ticket costs β¬2, valid for one hour. The simplest way to pay is with a contactless bank card straight on the validator on board β there's no need to buy a separate ticket at all.
Estonia is one of Europe's most digital countries β a bank card works everywhere, and you'll rarely need cash at all.
π Bus β the cheaper alternative
Bus No. 2 runs from the terminal into the center, and its β¬1.50 ticket is valid for one hour β you can transfer to the tram on the same ticket if the hour hasn't run out. Options thin out noticeably on late-night arrivals, so after 23:00 a taxi or Bolt is the better bet.
π Taxi and Bolt
Bolt is an Estonian company and the most widely used app in Tallinn β booking one on arrival is simple and the fare is shown upfront. Official taxis wait right outside the arrivals exit, on the meter.
Avoid the 'independent' drivers who approach you inside the terminal or near the elevators offering a taxi directly β the fare is often 2-3 times higher than booking through Bolt.

- The tram and bus don't run 24 hours β for a late-night arrival, Bolt is the most reliable option
- The one-hour ticket also covers getting around the center afterward, if you board in time
