🎫 A free transit ticket — Geneva's unique perk
In the baggage claim area, machines let every arriving passenger pick up a free public transport ticket (Unireso) — valid for 80 minutes on the train, tram and bus.
This ticket is only available at the airport on arrival — grab it from the machine before you collect your bags.
🚆 Train — the fastest option
The CFF/SBB train runs from the station beneath the terminal to central Gare Cornavin in just ≈6 minutes, departing roughly every 10-15 minutes throughout the day.

- The same line continues on to Lausanne and other Swiss cities
🚋 Tram and bus
Tram line 18 and bus line 5 reach the center in ≈20-25 minutes — a bit slower than the train, but useful if your hotel isn't near the central station.
🚕 Taxi and Uber
An official taxi to the center runs ≈35-45 CHF (≈$40-50), taking roughly 15-20 minutes. Uber operates in Geneva and is usually a bit cheaper than an official taxi.
