Naples Capodichino Airport (NAP) sits just about 7 km from the city center — one of the closest airports to any major European city. There's no metro link to the airport yet, but the bus into the center takes only 20-30 minutes.

🚌 Alibus — the most practical option
Alibus is the official airport shuttle, running straight from the terminal exit to Napoli Centrale train station and on to the port (Piazza Municipio). Buy a ticket from the machine at the terminal, through the app, or from the driver. Buses run roughly every 20 minutes.
- From Napoli Centrale, onward trains reach Pompeii, Sorrento or the Amalfi Coast
- There's ample space for luggage — the shuttle is built for tourist-sized bags
🚖 Taxi — a fixed fare, but confirm it upfront
Naples's official taxis charge a fixed fare to the central zones (Zone A covers the historic center and the port), posted on a board. Before you get in, ask the driver to confirm the fixed fare ("tariffa fissa") rather than the meter.
Don't agree to switch to the meter or accept a 'traffic surcharge' — the fixed fare to central zones is set by law. If in doubt, ask for a receipt.
🚆 Onward travel around Campania

- Carry some cash in euros for the taxi or bus ticket — not every machine accepts cards
- Traffic in Naples is heavy through the day — add 10-15 minutes if you're taking the bus into the center
- Keep valuables out of easily-accessible pockets — like many big tourist cities, central Naples is known for pickpocketing
