🌉 Chapel Bridge and the old town
The Kapellbrücke, or Chapel Bridge, dates from the 14th century and is the city's main symbol. A fire damaged it in 1993 and it was later rebuilt. The Water Tower (Wasserturm) stands beside it, and the old town's narrow streets are full of cafés and shops. Another sight is the Lion Monument, a lion carved into a rock face in 1821.

Two mountains near Lucerne are especially popular. You can reach Pilatus by cogwheel railway and cable car, and Rigi by a cogwheel train from the lake.
