π Tram β the most convenient option
Edinburgh Trams run directly from the airport to Princes Street in the city center in β35 minutes, every 8-10 minutes. A single ticket costs βΒ£6.50-9.50 (β$8-12), while a Day Ticket runs βΒ£10 (β$13) β better value if you'll be moving around the city more than once that day.
π The Airlink 100 bus
The Airlink 100 bus reaches the center in β25-30 minutes and also runs overnight (Night Bus N100). Fares run βΒ£5.50-9 (β$7-11) β slightly cheaper than the tram, though more exposed to traffic.
Booking a round-trip ticket for the tram or bus online in advance is usually a little cheaper than buying on the spot.
π Taxi and Uber
An official taxi to the center runs βΒ£25-35 (β$32-45), taking roughly 20-25 minutes depending on traffic. Uber operates in Edinburgh and is usually a bit cheaper than an official taxi.
During festival season (the August Fringe Festival), taxi prices and wait times spike sharply β the tram or bus is far more reliable.
